In this era of technology everyone has to use laptops, for one task or the other. All of us are dependent on it. And while using them if they stuck or become slow we become irritated. Here I am going to elaborate some hacks and ways through which you can speed up your laptop and you don’t have to bother buying a new one.
- CLOSE SYSTEM TRAY PROGRAMS
The items you have in the system tray launch start automatically at start up and keep on running in the background while you use your system. I know most of you were unaware of that thing, so go right now to the upward directed arrow in the task bar. Right click on the item you don’t want to use and close them. This process will speed up your laptop
- STOP PROGRAMS RUNNING ON THE STARTUP
After closing the programs in the tray, you have to do one more thing. But some programs automatically run on startup and slow down the progress of your system. To avoid these programs from starting, open the Task Manager and head to the startup tab. From here you can close all the irrelevant programs that you don’t want to work and speed up your laptop.
- KEEP YOUR WINDOWS UP TO DATE
Keeping your software up to date is definitely a good idea for security. But it also has an impact on the speed of your laptop. To up-date go to Start and click Settings. Then go to Windows Update option. If you want your laptop to work on an optimize speed go and update you OS along with all apps.
- DELETE UNNECESSARY FILES
We have a habit to keep the useless files for long time then complain about the speed of your system. What the poor soul can do? You also have to help the system by deleting all the unnecessary files on weekly basis. Along with that don’t only keep on deleting the file from drives, also empty the recycle bin frequently as it also occupies space in C drive.
- ADJUST YOUR POWER OPTIONS
Windows comes with several preset ‘power plans’ to suit your needs. The default is set to Balanced, which takes into account performance and energy consumption. But the latter is only really a concern if you’re running off battery or trying to keep the electricity bills down. As such, you may want to change your plan. The Power saver plan option is not a good idea if your computer is already slow. This reduces the performance of your PC to save energy. As its name suggests, the High performance plan is a better option. Although it uses more energy, it favors performance so should help speed up your laptop. Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Power Options>Create a power plan. Enter your plan name and select next.
- UNINSTALL PROGRAMS YOU DON’T USE
We are in the habit of installing programs and keep them even if they are not required anymore. One you use them and forget about them. I guarantee a lot of memory in your system is used by such unnecessary programs. So uninstall these programs and head towards Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features. It will automatically speed up your laptop.
These are some hacks you can use to speed up your laptop and work in a smooth environment. Work on them and you can also concern these tips if mine don’t work.
